This is an actual placenta print made with various types of paint (acrylic, watercolor).  We wanted to tell the story of Stella's birth which was on a warm, blustery summer night.  "Stella" obviously means "stars."  She was born in August and poppies represent that month.  Outside the door of their house two swallows were nesting and the chicks had just hatched.  It was a magical birth!
