I use many different tools and mediums to create my artwork. So pieces have a "See how it was made" link.
The most common process I use is to do a pencil sketch, then go over it in either pen and ink or watercolor. I then usually layer in colored pencil to create a more luminous color. Sometimes I uses resists of liquid frisket, sometimes I add acrylic, embossing, or metallic elements. I do oil painting and sculpture (both resin cast and fired clay) and have experience with Maiolica technique for painting clay. You can see my Maiolica pieces here.
Most sculpture I do is hand-built, meaning I build up the clay to create what I want instead of using a throwing wheel or mold. I either use earthenware that is subsequently fired in a kiln or oil based clay that I sculpt then make a mold of and cast in resin. I am also currently experimenting with different ways to do cold casting, which is a way to make resin casts appear metallic. This is how I make my finger labyrinths, a great way to practice mindfulness.
